The valley of the Vézère was classified by UNESCO because of its unique historical and scenic nature. Castles, fortified cities, caves with prehistoric drawings and little Roman churches are part of an art historical heritage. In the middle of these surroundings lies the lovely and quiet little valley Maison Rocoin. Golf, tennis and horse riding are some of the activities available, and a group canoeing trip is always a nice outing for young and old. This part of the country is world famous for its goose liver paté, confits, truffles and even its strawberries are unforgettable delicious. Every day of the week there is a market in one of the picturesque villages in the surroundings. These villages have their own festivals, especially in the summer. For the teenagers there is a village café and a camping with a great lake and a swimming pool. Those who like sport, can walk along the grand randonnée or cycle in the hilly country.
